Our earth is part of the solar system which consist of 8 planets. Among these eight the only planet which has been blessed with the ability to support life was and is earth. But will the earth be able to support life in the FUTURE? Is our planet slowly degrading? Will it become uninhabitable in the next 50-100 years? Who to blame? How can we stop this.
is our planet slowly degrading?
Yes , in the recent years we had been continuously exploiting the nature. We must understand that there is always a limit to which the nature can give us back.
Deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wildlife is called ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION.
Needless to say that environmental degradation is one of the major global issues. The overuse of resources is it land or water and the industrialisation process are the major causes of this phenomenon.
will earth become uninhabitable in the next 50-100 years?
Earth may be unlivable by 2050 or 2100 because of the rapid increase in global warming and climate change.
climate change is accelerating so much that earth will probably be unlivable by 2100, if not 2050.
The global warming that was previously predicted to occur within 2,000 years, is now predicted to occur within the lifetimes of some people who are alive even today,“
new research projects that in three hundred years, half of our planet will "simply become too hot" for humans, if that's the legacy we choose to leave behind.

What causes environmental degradation?

The size of the human population has grown exponentially since we discovered a way to cure some of the most common diseases.
With our population boom, we required more land, more water, more of everything.
Forests have almost disappeared because we needed to clear them to plant more crops, to give animals a place to graze and to supply us with wood and other raw materials.
Technology and Industry can be blamed too. Vehicle emissions, toxic waste, carbon emissions – all emit toxins into our atmosphere, causing air pollution. These are all by-products of our inventions and ingenuity. This is what’s causing Global Warming
We didn’t realize that the Earth’s supply was not infinite. It can be depleted, and that’s the state that it’s in right now.
We are using our natural resources faster than our planet can replenish them. Soon, we will have a shortage when the supply runs out.
